This is currently my favorite method for creating images. I start out by doing the drawing with a pencil on paper. I was inspired by the beauty of a pear I found at Whole Foods. After I was done with the initial drawing on paper, I scanned it into Photoshop. I set the original drawing layer to "Multiply". I then proceeded to create several layers underneath the drawing layer- one for each of the different colors I was using- even separate layers for the shadows, highlights, and finally the frame. This of course made the colors and shapes much easier to maneuver. The result still has an earthy and natural look to it- but also a clean look because of its digital finalization.
